Dr. Sushil Thapa is a multidisciplinary scientist with a strong teaching and research background in the fields of agronomy and crop stress physiology. He has taught 15+ university level courses and is the first author of 25+ peer-reviewed journal articles and book chapters (80+ publications in total). His teaching and research interests are focused on integrated crop management with a particular emphasis on soil-plant-water-environment interactions, precision agriculture, soil health, and biotic and abiotic stress management in field and forage crops. Dr. Thapa earned his PhD in Systems Agriculture (Agronomy) from West Texas A&M University in the USA, MS in Agroecology from Wageningen University in the Netherlands, and BS in Agriculture from Purbanchal University/ HICAST.
Currently, he works as an Assistant Professor of Agronomy at the University of Central Missouri (UCM) in the USA. He also serves as a Guest Editor of Agronomy, Reviewing Editor of Journal of Crop Improvement, and Editor-In-Chief of the Agri-Connection newsletter. Several scholarships and awards attest to his academic and professional excellence, including Chinese government scholarship, Dutch government scholarship,Special Achievement Award and Award of Excellence at Texas A&M University, and Outstanding Faculty Award at UCM.
